General Job Description:

Is an experienced and exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour (KS1 or KS2)
Has experience in taking a lead role in the creative curriculum and developing an e-learning community

Is able to lead on data analysis and targeted improvement to inform teaching and learning
Is an enthusiastic, energetic and well motivated team member
Is able to promote a range of high quality extra curricular opportunities within the school community
Takes a lead role in managing the speedy/effective transfer of pupils.
Actively seeks information regarding, and utilise, the range of opportunities to provide support for pupils to improve their learning.
Manage liaison with feeder schools and other bodies to gather information.
Manages record keeping systems and processes.
Assists with the development of school policy and procedures such as child protection, health etc.
Takes responsibility for the provision of out of school learning activities within school guidelines and contributes to the identification and planning of such activities

Sometimes you might get authority to supervise a team of teaching assistants planning their deployment, liaise between managers/teaching staff and teaching/classroom assistants, hold regular team meetings and represent teaching/classroom assistants at management/staff and other meetings. Undertake the recruitment/appraisals/training/mentoring for other teaching/classroom assistants.

Experience required:
Experience working with children of relevant age, experience of working with pupils with additional needs.

Education preffered:
Equivalent to NVQ Level 3;
Meet Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification or experience
